Mrs. Hulliberger began her teaching career at Harper Woods High School in 1999. From 2000-2008 she was the Director of Bands at Lahser High School and East Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. She has been in her current role as Director of Bands for Walled Lake Northern since 2009. She directs Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band A, Symphony Band B, Concert Band, Jazz Band and the Marching Knights. She was selected as teacher of the year in 2014 at Northern and then later for the entire district.
Northern bands have consistently earned highest honors at MSBOA, Marching band festivals and have also had the opportunity to perform all over the world. Through the years the Marching Knights have performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, and London England.

Ashley Ward is in her thirteenth year as a music educator. This is her eighth year as director of vocal music at Walled Lake Northern High School in the Walled Lake Consolidated School District, where she directs three curricular choral ensembles, two extracurricular choral ensembles, and teaches a Piano and Acting class. Her choirs include the Knight Singers, Advanced Women, Men’s Choir, Octet, and Chamber Singers. She also is the vocal director and producer of the school musical. Her choirs consistently earn highest ratings at district and state festivals, and her students actively participate in Regional, State and All State Choirs, as well as District and State Solo and Ensemble. Her choirs have performed in Chicago, Disney World and New York City. Before her tenure at Walled Lake Northern, Ashley previously taught at Bloomfield Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (2009-2014).
Mrs. Ward holds degrees in Choral Conducting (M.M.-2015), Choral Music Education, and Vocal Performance (B.Mus- 2009), all from Oakland University. She is an active member of the American Choral Director’s Association and Michigan School Vocal Music Association. She is sought after as a performer, clinician, and accompanist in the Oakland County area. She currently lives in Waterford with her husband Zack, and their children Grayson and Harper.

Dan (Dade) Wallis is a music professional from southeast Michigan committed to being a versatile and impactful contributor to every organization he joins. Mr. Wallis is a 2021 graduate of Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education and currently serves as the Director of Orchestras at Walled Lake Northern & Walled Lake Central High Schools.
Mr. Wallis is dedicated to creating meaningful musical experiences that both challenge students and foster lifelong growth. Under his direction, students have earned top ratings at MSVMA District and State Solo & Ensemble and Choral Festivals, advanced to ICHSA (International Competition of High School A Cappella) quarterfinals and semifinals, been recognized at multiple All-State Festivals, and performed at the 2022 ACDA Michigan Conference.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Wallis is an accomplished composer and arranger, with works that have been performed by ensembles ranging from middle school ensembles to professional groups worldwide. He sings baritone in TBD A Cappella, a semi-professional vocal group based in Southeast Michigan, and works with Varsity Vocals as a judge and sound engineer for the Midwest region.
Across each of these roles, Mr. Wallis brings a passion for excellence, creativity, collaboration, and continued musical growth. Whether conducting an ensemble, creating new music, running sound for a performance, or supporting fellow musicians, he strives to help every organization and group he works with reach their full potential.
