Student & Parent Highlights
Amy Crossfield: Band Rep Extraordinaire
Amy Crossfield is basically a household name when we talk about Marching Band. Amy has reformed the way that all of the behind the scenes of band camp and Music Boosters operate. The changes have streamlined everyone's lives, even yours, and you may not have even noticed! And that's ok, because Amy doesn't do what she does for any accolades. Amy has been essential in our growth in the Music Boosters, and 'thank you' will never be enough. Here is what Amy said about her volunteering experience.
"This upcoming season will mark my 5th year volunteering as a Band Rep and my 7th year as part of the Music Boosters. Even with working full-time, I've been easily able to dedicate my time to the band and have made incredible memories and friendships because of it. I’ve also been privileged to be “band mom” to 180+ incredible and talented kids.
Both of my boys, Nick (who has graduated) and Bennett (a sophomore tenor sax player), loved being in the Marching Band. I'm honestly not sure who had more fun at camp - me or my boys!
Sadly, this will be my last year in this role. I really hope someone will volunteer to take over my position so I can mentor them this season. I'm looking forward to another great year but know it will be bittersweet as I step away.
If you're interested in getting more involved, please reach out. It's been an incredibly rewarding experience that I'll always cherish."
Amy, from the Music Booster and band family, thank you for being amazing. We are proud to know you, and thankful that you shared your skills, kindness, and organization with us.
If you would like to nominate a student and/or a parent to be featured in our newsletter, please contact Liz Vachon at lizvachon@gmail.com We are looking for band, choir, and orchestra students and parents that are having fun being involved in our program.
