Marching Band News
We culminated our season with our infamous "Gym Concert" on Wednesday, November 13th. It was fun to share the joy of music with the 7th and 8th graders to get them pumped for all of the opportunities with our incredible music department that await them in high school. Great job, everyone! Special thank you to Sarah Fike and her team of volunteers that made the uniform turn-in seamless.
On Friday, November 15th, we celebrated our achievements with food, friends, and fun! A big thank you goes out to Tia Kreps for making the banquet a huge success! Thank you to all of the volunteers that assisted Tia in making this a wonderful night for everyone. Congratulations Seniors! We are so proud of you! We are looking forward getting the band back together for the Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 26th, 2025

WE WANT YOU!
There are so many ways to get involved with your child's musical passion and here are some current/future needs to make our program successful:
Banquet Chair: If party planning is your specialty, then this is the opportunity for you! Our current chair, Tia Kreps, wants to train YOU to put on an awesome end of the season celebration for our students. Tia has a graduating senior this year, and it is time to pass the reigns to another parent. This is a unique and exciting volunteering experience. Don't miss out on your chance to be the party hero! Contact Tia Kreps at tiakreps1@gmail.com for more information.
Choir Representative: Attends the booster meetings monthly and reports on all things choir.
Orchestra Representative: Attends the booster meetings monthly and reports on all things orchestra.
Uniform Chair: This position fits all band, choir, and orchestra students in their concert uniforms (NOT MARCHING BAND UNIFORMS). You do not need to be able to sew. You can do this volunteer job and still have a daytime job. You are in charge of when fittings happen. You will fit them at the beginning of the school year, and you will be in charge of the return of the uniforms. A few more details involved, but this is the basic overview. SO FUN WITH A FRIEND!!! Want more information? Contact Nicole German at nicolegerman422@gmail.com or Jody Klarich at jodyk1814@gmail.com
Thank you Nicole and Jody for keeping our students looking sharp on the field. We are grateful for your service!
2 Marching Band Reps: This is an incredibly important job and without it, the kids don't have band camp. PLEASE consider inquiring about this position to Amy Crossfield at wlnmbcampforms@gmail.com
Thank you Lisa West for your dedication to our band as one of the Marching Band Reps. Your leadership provided our students with a wonderful marching band season.
Food Rep Shadows for Fall of 2025: Feeding the band is one of the coolest jobs you can have. Teenagers love to eat and they love when you feed them! Please consider shadowing our food reps or you can ask them any questions by emailing Ruth Jeffries at thejeffries73@hotmail.com or Val DePotter at vdepotter@att.net
Student & Parent Highlights
THANK YOU TO OUR HYDRATION SPECIALISTS!
For the past few years, Stacy and Jim Jean (parents to Gabe) along with Ronan Burton (brother of Declan) have volunteered to do the water and snacks at each game. Not only do they keep our Marching Knights hydrated, but they decorate the water area under the bleachers for each game. Thank you for taking such good care of our marchers! And it really was some "high quality H20!"
If you would like to nominate a student and/or a parent to be featured in our newsletter, please contact Liz Vachon at lizvachon@gmail.com We are looking for band, choir, and orchestra students and parents that are having fun being involved in our program.
Golden Apple Award Winners
Our very own Chris Huismann and Roger Martin received the Golden Apple Award at the November 7th Board of Education Meeting. These generous guys were nominated by Lisa Massat because of their dedication to the Knights' Marching Band for 19 years. Both are professional photographers and they join us each season ensuring every child is photographed on and off the field. Chris and Roger give all of the parents the gift of incredible photos of their children in moments that we don't always get to see first hand. We are incredibly grateful that they share their time with us each year, even though their own children are grown now. Thank you Chris and Roger! It's nice to see them in front of the camera for once!
