MSBOA DISTRICT 4 SUCCESS!
Congratulations to our "Runaway Knights" on a top scoring division at the MSBOA festival. All 1's and A+s!!! Everyone looked great out there under the lights at Bloomfield High School. Thank you to all of the parents that volunteered to make that event run smoothly for our students. All of that hard work from the season really showed!
UNIFORM TURN IN
On November 13th, students will be returning their marching band uniforms after the concert. We will be looking for volunteers to help the process go smoothly and quickly! Keep an eye on your email to find a sign-up genius for that opportunity.
There will be a separate turn in area for students that are traveling to Disney. Yes, we will be taking their uniforms to ensure that they have all of their parts and pieces, and that nothing needs repair before we travel. We will be re-distributing the uniforms for the Disney trip at a date to be determined closer to the travel date.
THANK YOU!
A special thank you to our "Chip Ladies" Martha Bol-Johnson and Pam Barrow for running our Better Made Chip fundraiser for the last few years. Your dedication has earned the marching band a lot of extra funds, and we are very thankful for your leadership! The chip tradition will continue next fall with Jackie Darnell and Leslie Szalk running the show. Band parent volunteers rock! Thank you for volunteering your time for our program!

WE WANT YOU!
There are so many ways to get involved with your child's musical passion and here are some current/future needs to make our program successful:
Banquet Chair: If party planning is your specialty, then this is the opportunity for you! Our current chair, Tia Kreps, wants to train YOU to put on an awesome end of the season celebration for our students. Tia has a graduating senior this year, and it is time to pass the reigns to another parent. This is a unique and exciting volunteering experience. Don't miss out on your chance to be the party hero! Contact Tia Kreps at tiakreps1@gmail.com for more information.
Choir Representative: comes to the booster meetings monthly and reports on all things choir.
Uniform Chair: (shadow for the 2024/2025 school year, then take over): This position fits all band, choir, and orchestra students in their concert uniforms (NOT MARCHING BAND UNIFORMS). You do not need to be able to sew. You can do this volunteer job and still have a daytime job. You are in charge of when fittings happen. You will fit them at the beginning of the school year, and you will be in charge of the return of the uniforms. A few more details involved, but this is the basic overview. SO FUN WITH A FRIEND!!! Want more information? Contact Nicole German at nicolegerman422@gmail.com or Jody Klarich at jodyk1814@gmail.com
2 Marching Band Reps: (Shadow for the 2024/2025 school year, then take over). This is an incredibly important job and without it, the kids don't have band camp. PLEASE consider inquiring about this position to Amy Crossfield at wlnmbcampforms@gmail.com or Lisa West at west.lisa@hotmail.com.
Food Rep Shadows for Fall of 2025: Feeding the band is one of the coolest jobs you can have. Teenagers love to eat and they love when you feed them! Please consider shadowing our food reps or you can ask them any questions by emailing Ruth Jeffries at thejeffries73@hotmail.com or Val DePotter at vdepotter@att.net
Student & Parent Highlights
The Bruss Family
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight Jen Bruss, our RaiseRight chair person. She works hard helping to make your student money while you shop! This is what Jen had to say about her volunteering experience.
"I love watching my kids do what they love and my kids love the band program. My schedule can be unconventional. When the Raise Right position became available, I felt it would be a fantastic way to become more involved with the music program while getting to know more about the program my kids adore as well as allowing me the flexibility to volunteer when it worked with my schedule. I was a little apprehensive about taking over the position, as the previous coordinator left big shoes to fill, but everyone has been incredibly helpful and kind."
Jen's kids Maddie and Nathan are members of the marching band as well as many other activities. This is what they had to say about being in the marching band.
Maddie: "I love being drum major of the marching band. It’s such a blast and I can’t believe this is my last year!"
Nathan: "I have made some amazing friends through band and the marching band."
We are going to miss you too, Maddie! Thank you Bruss family for your involvement in our band program!
If you would like to nominate a student and/or a parent to be featured in our newsletter, please contact Liz Vachon at lizvachon@gmail.com We are looking for band, choir, and orchestra students and parents that are having fun being involved in our program.
The Daily 3 Has Arrived!
Congratulations to all of the current winners of the Daily3 Lotto Fundraiser! There are still many days left to win, so stay close to Facebook and your email to find out if you won! Checks will be distributed in November. Thank you to Melissa Novack and Brigitte Berryhill for donating their winnings back to the band! Your generosity is appreciated.
